A Community Coming Together to Shape Hawkesbury’s Future
Hawkesbury, September 3, 2026 — The Hawkesbury & Region Chamber of Commerce is pleased to highlight the success of “Hawkesbury: Looking Ahead”, held on September 2 in collaboration with Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH).
The event brought together representatives from the business community, community organizations, local institutions, candidates in the upcoming municipal election, and numerous residents committed to the future of their community.
The strong turnout reflected a shared interest in collectively considering what Hawkesbury can become in the years ahead and the conditions that will enable the community to continue growing and developing.
A Vision That Must Be Pursued Collectively
During its presentation, the Chamber of Commerce addressed several issues that will directly influence Hawkesbury’s ability to attract new residents, workers, businesses, and investment.
The priorities raised included economic development and the availability of commercial and industrial spaces, access to housing that meets the needs of residents and the workforce, the infrastructure required to support growth, and the community’s quality of life and overall attractiveness.
The Chamber also emphasized the importance of providing businesses and developers with a clear, predictable environment that encourages investment. Requirements, timelines, infrastructure constraints, fees, and approval processes must be clearly understood and properly coordinated so that projects can move forward efficiently.
At a time when communities are competing to attract investment, workers, and new families, Hawkesbury’s ability to be responsive, organized, and ready to collaborate represents an important advantage.
Hawkesbury and District General Hospital: An Essential Partner in the Community’s Future
The presentation by Hawkesbury and District General Hospital also gave participants a better understanding of the hospital’s evolution, its projects, and its role in the future development of Hawkesbury and the surrounding region.
The presence of a strong healthcare institution represents much more than an essential service for residents. It contributes directly to quality of life, the attractiveness of the community, and its ability to welcome new families, workers, and investment.
The Chamber thanks Hawkesbury and District General Hospital for its collaboration in organizing the event and for its continued commitment to the community.
Turning Discussions into Action
The evening’s discussions demonstrated above all that Hawkesbury’s future does not depend on a single project, organization, or level of government. It depends on the ability of the community’s various stakeholders to work together toward shared objectives.
The Chamber of Commerce therefore intends to continue serving as a convener and partner to the municipality, businesses, institutions, community organizations, and economic development partners.
As this fall’s municipal election approaches, the Chamber also wishes the very best to all candidates who have chosen to serve their community.
Beyond the election campaign, we hope the issues and opportunities discussed during this event will help inform conversations over the coming weeks and, most importantly, the decisions that will shape Hawkesbury in the years ahead.
We all share the same hope: to see Hawkesbury continue to evolve, seize new opportunities, and build a promising future for everyone who lives, works, invests, and does business here.
